I know this has probably been discussed several times, but I still have to ask!
I took a little stroll down memory lane the other day, and took out all of my DD's AG dolls. I gave them all the downy dunk last year, and put them in their meet outfits, and original boxes, and put them away.
They are just beautiful...except for Felicity. Her hair seems to have changed somehow. It feels like it is about half as full as it used to be. It's really weird, and I feel really bad.
DD says I can send her to the Doll Hospital, but she HAS to have a pre-mattel head, so that she is exactly like the Felicity she got when she was little.
I'm so nervous, though....what are the chances they'll send her back with a post-mattel head? I know that I'll have to put notes on her, but I'm still nervous.
Advice, anyone?

There is no gaurantee that they will or have any pre-mattel heads for Felicity. You can always send her in to the hospital with a note that says you would only like a pre mattel head if they have one and if they don't to not change her head.Make sure you include your phone number and have them give you a call when they get to her to talk to them about it.

I'm with Daisy on this one, but I don't believe there is a chance they will have a pre-mattel head. I don't think they keep a stock of them. Since the company was bought a few years back. You could try, but it is highly unlikely.
It is why I never sent my Sam in for a head change when her wig started getting ratty. I went to my local doll shop and they guy there had fresh doll wigs. I picked one out that was just like Sam's (but a little longer). Maybe that ruins the authenticity, but at least I got to keep the same head, and she wasn't going to be rewired the way Mattel does it now. My Sam is just as pretty as the day I got her 12 years ago.

I know I have read that others have sent their dolls in, and gotten pre-mattel heads. And you can ask them not to put the plastic tie in..they'll leave the string in if you ask.

I asked CS about this and they said they couldn't garuntee the availability of PM heads, but she did assure me that if I wrote a note to not do anything without calling me, they wouldn't. Also, you can have CS put a note in your computer file as well as an added precaution.

Okay, I think I'm going to go ahead and do it, then. Now I'm only worried about her getting lost in the mail!

I recently asked CS a similar question about my daughters Samantha. Here was their answer:
"Please include a note with your request to match the original style Samantha head on your doll. Also, please include your name, address, and a day time phone number where we can reach you if they no longer have those heads in stock. Please include your payment of $38 for the head and $5.95 for shipping and handling. Your note and pay method should be attached to the doll inside the box."
It sounds promising to me. I think I'll try for Valentines Day to get her Sam a new head...she has bald spots poor girl...

Thank you, Jenn...that's very encouraging! I think I'll box Felicity up today!
